The funeral has not been scheduled yet but I understand that the family wants some time. As I understand it, it should be towards the end of March. In the meantime, if you are in the pub, please sign the condolence book and if you can afford a few schekels, please ask the bar person and they will assist.

  • RIP Damo…

    Capture

My friend Damon Bergamini died last week in London. I have been struggling to come to terms with how someone so alive and so young at heart is no longer with us. I still cannot fathom how this happened and why he is still not here. He had some health issues but to be dead….I don’t get it. I keep expecting him to come swinging in through the door and belt out his famous HALLO but all there is is a void. I miss you Damo.

Damo was a natural entertainer and he kept my pub in stitches every time he came in. Seriously, I have never met such a showman. Over the last couple of years, he was actually performing on stage and had become one of the stars of fest (the Frankfurt English Speaking Theatre). His last perfomance in Charlie’s Aunt was his best. Rare have I seen a theatre laugh so much as Damo stole the show and really showed how talented a man he was.

He will me missed by many. Details of the funeral service have not been released but I will let you know via this site as soon as I have news

People have been asking if there will be a service or benefit in the pub. We raised a glass (several actually) to our friend last Thursday when we received the news from London. Some of us spoke about it last night and we decided it is enough. We don’t want to celebrate his death and I certainly don’t want to profit from it by having some type of benefit in the pub. I know many of you would like something here in frankfurt but I am going to bow out. Damo is dead and that sucks horribly so I do not feel like any good cheer.

We are taking any donations though for Damo’s mother Carol to help assist with the costs of the funeral and moving his belongings from Frankfurt to London. If you would like to donate please see me in the pub.

    Rest In Peace Damo.

  • No Cards or Credit

More and more guests have been asking if they can pay their bill using plastic. It may seem luddite, even 20th century but cash is still king in this great land and I can promise all our guests – what goes on in 4C stays in 4C – no records, no debt, no evidence of your evening with us. Pfffft, up in smoke….So, please realize when you join us at the cosmos’ greatest little pub that we only take cash as payment.

  • Lazy hazy days of summer…

BBQ season is upon us. Hope you will join us for the first BBq of the summer on June 18. The Theme is the country where we live….it’s a German BBQ.

We will continue with a BBQ every weekend until September. Please check this page for more information as information on BBQs will be posted here.

  • FA Cup Semi finals and NLD

The live sports page has been updatred until the end of the month. This weekend we have both FA cup semi finals and loads of other football. End of the month sees the NLD…Christ I hope we win and stop spuds from winning the title.

it was a great easter at the pub. The Irish stew was to die for.

    See you in the pub!

  • Easter, sleep, fish…and a new sports plan

Wow -we made it to Easter already…I am hoping that i will be able to sleep for about half the 4 day weekend…sleep is beautiful….

The new sports plan is up…to hell with football.

As for pub news, don’t forget to check out our Friday Fish night….we will be offering a number of fish dishes each week. For example, last week we offered fish tacos or Tagliatelle in a creamy salmon sauce or our famous fish and chips or Calamari salad or Calamari Romain…each item for only 10€.

    What a deal!!

To all our guests, we wish you all a Lovely Easter.

  • No St Totteringham’s day this year

It’s a sad thing but this will be the first time in 22 years we will not finish above sp*ds. I think Arsene Wenger has proved that absolute power corrupts absolutely and he has to go. That said, he should be able to go without being hounded out. But would he go if he was not hounded? He has absolute power so why would he? The way the arse is going, we will be lucky not to get relegated (not sure if that is still possible but I do expect us to lose every game from here on in).

Anyway, the new sports plan has been posted.
